PEIT - Powertrain Equipped with Intelligent Technology
2002-2004 (European commission funded project - Project leader : DaimlerChrysler)
PEIT is a project within the 5th framework of the EU, registered under IST-2000-28722. Its aim is to realise a Drive-by-Wire truck prototype with energy management and redundant electronics in order to be accepted on the streets and put into serie production. The members of this project are DaimlerChrysler AG, Continental AG, Diehl Avionik Systeme, iQ Battery, Knorr Bremse, EPCOS AG, TU Braunschweig, TUEVs, Budapest University of Technology, Universitaet Karlsruhe, Kraftfahrtbundesamt and IVECO as a sponsoring partner. In this project, Allemann Technologies (as Allemann Consulting) was responsible for the wiring and the taking into operation of the so called "Vehicle-in-the-Loop" platform. This platform is a Drive-by-Wire truck mounted on supports where each wheels is linked to electro-motors in order to perform a street simulation. Support was given to each partner to integrate and test their electronic / mechatronic subsystems.
